PNC Bank Comes on Board as Play It Forward Presenting Sponsor
Music Aid Northwest proudly announces PNC Bank as the presenting sponsor for the 10th Annual Play It Forward to be held Saturday, March 12, 2022. In addition to the presenting sponsor role, PNC Foundation has donated an additional $10,000 to Music Matters grant program.
“Music Aid Northwest’s relationship with PNC will help ensure that every student in Washington state has access to music education. We’re extremely pleased that PNC decided to support Seattle’s coolest fundraising event but are overwhelmed at their generosity in directly funding additional grants for 2022, which is already shaping up to be our most successful fundraising year ever,” MANW Executive Director Bob Tomberg, said.
Music Aid Northwest provides grants to public school music programs throughout Washington state. The Music Matter grants are historically awarded once each school year and used for immediate needs of individual classrooms. This year, due to funds being held over from 2020, 30 Washington state schools were funded during the fall semester, totaling over $146,000. Another round of similar funding will be awarded in the spring. Applications for the spring semester are already pouring in.
“PNC has a long history of supporting the arts and culture. As we continue to grow our presence in Washington, establishing a relationship with Music Aid Northwest extends that commitment across our state,” said Laura MacNeil, PNC regional president West Coast territory executive and regional president for Washington. “Participating as the presenting sponsor is the perfect way to celebrate a decade of ‘Play it Forward’ and support the quality of life throughout our region, as well as the future vitality of Washington’s arts and culture community.”
Play It Forward is MANW’s largest annual fundraising event, and brings together the best of Washington’s musicians, community leaders, and local fans to help support music education in Washington state. This unique event celebrates Washington and its incredible food, amazing wines, and, of course, great musicians. Contributions raised during Pay It Forward directly benefit hundreds of deserving students each year by ensuring their school’s music program is adequately funded. During the Play It Forward gala, MANW also presents the Washington Music Icon Award to an individual that works to build and support the music community.
Play It Forward takes place March 12, 2022, at the Triple Door in Seattle. Tables and sponsorship packages are now available by contacting Shelley Tomberg at [email protected] or (425) 466-1927.
