Dear Friends,
As most of you know we had our first Music Aid
Northwest concert last Friday eve at
The Premier. Thanks to many of
you for attending.
The official PR is in the works but I just wanted
you all to know ASAP how things went. Importantly,
in one evening we raised over ten thousand dollars
for CARE.
Those who weren't able to attend, well you missed an
absolutely stellar show. It was truly a concert of
"North West Stars on Stage" featuring Stolen Ogre
with John Popper from Blues Traveler, White, Alan
White's fabulous new band, The Geoffrey Castle Band
featuring not only Geoffrey but Roger Fisher,
Michael Derosier and Steve Fossen (Heart, Alias). There was Randy
Hansen giving an incredible show (as usual), Randy
Oxford with his "rockin' trombone and numerous other
guest artists. Even Goldy McJohn (Steppenwolf) was
seen in the house for a while, Garr Lange was there.
All donating their best for a worthy humanitarian
cause. Almost with out a break the house jumped from
8 till 1pm... In fact we were unable to accommodate
all those who wanted to perform..we just ran out of
time.
Our thanks to not only the artists but all the
others who helped pull the show together in a little
over two weeks. Special thanks to Mark Naficy for
the donation of the Premier Club and all his staff.
The Venturettes for managing the door, the video and
camera crew, our emcee Down Town Joe, KZOK radio and
everybody else who helped... a list too long to
cover here. Thank you all.
Music Aid Northwest is certainly off to a great
start with additional events of various kinds all
ready being considered.
Keep an eye on this site, as there is more coming. A
catalogue of bands, artists and venues that are
willing to donate their services for a special cause
is being developed. Please E mail me if you want to
get on our list.
